Your New Role
As a member of the Precincts team, the Development Manager will have the unique opportunity to work on a high-profile project, stepping in at a critical time of the project and driving significant urban development outcomes. Core Accountabilities
Reporting to the Development Director, your key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating and directing development activities to meet Development Victoria’s objectives.
- Assist with drafting and management of Development Agreement(s).
- Prepare financial feasibility models and monitor financial performance.
- Assist in land acquisition and assembling requirements across the project.
- Manage project costing, cash-flow, and delivery against budgets.
- Direct internal and external project inputs, including planning, design, marketing, and sales.
- Oversee day to day activities for project staff, consultants, and contractors.
- Implement risk management practices and ensure legal compliance.
This role is a 12-month fixed term parental leave opportunity. We work in a hybrid environment, with this role working from our head office in Melbourne CBD, on-site as required and working from home. We embrace working flexibly at Development Victoria.

About You

We are seeking a confident, big-picture thinker who is commercially savvy, technically competent and possesses strong stakeholder management skills. The ideal candidate will be flexible, adaptable, and self-driven, with the ability to build relationships, show initiative, and maintain resilience in a complex project environment.
Knowledge, Skills And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in property, project management, or finance (postgraduate desirable).
- Familiar and/or comfortable with Development Agreements (desirable)
- Experience in property project management.
- Ability to navigate the complexities of legal compliance and development contracts.
- Effective negotiation and communication.
- Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and self-management skills.
- Proven ability and experience in planning, organising and coordinating development, design, construction and marketing of projects.
- Experience managing and directing people to generate successful results.
- Experience in the preparation and analysis of financial feasibility studies, budgeting and tight cost monitoring to achieve profitable outcomes.
- Experience in the preparation of complex briefs, letters, emails and reports using clear, concise and grammatically correct language.
