The Role

Join a high-performing General Insurance team in Sydney as an Associate. You will work on a wide variety of public and product liability, professional liability and general insurance matters across diverse industries, under the supervision of Principal Lawyers.

What your work looks like

• Managing your own matters from instruction through to resolution
• Direct client contact and relationship management
• Drafting pleadings, advices, briefs and settlement documents
• Attending mediations, settlement conferences and court appearances
• Legal research and strategic analysis on complex matters
• Contributing to commercial advice across multiple industry sectors

Principal and Senior Lawyers will mentor you across advocacy, strategic advice and practice management.

About You

You bring

• Minimum 2+ years post-admission experience in insurance litigation
• Genuine interest in insurance litigation law
• Strong legal research, drafting and analytical skills
• Sharp attention to detail and ability to work at pace
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A proactive, client-focused approach
• Confidence working independently and as part of a team

Skills & Abilities

• Understanding of legal issues relevant to insurance law
• Ability to deliver commercial advice with technical precision
• Proven ability to build relationships across all levels of seniority
• Confidence dealing directly with clients
• Strong time management across multiple active matters
• Capacity to problem solve and think laterally
