The Opportunity

Join a dynamic and expanding regional health service as a Consultant Anaesthetist at Gladstone Hospital.

You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality anaesthetic and perioperative care while contributing to service development, teaching, and clinical governance.

As a Consultant Anaesthetist, You Will

• General surgery
• Orthopaedics
• Obstetrics & gynaecology
• Endoscopy and procedural lists
• Dental and investigative services
• Lead pre-anaesthetic assessment clinics
• Deliver care to high-acuity patients, including HDU ward rounds
• Airway management
• Ventilatory support
• Central venous access
• Acute and perioperative pain management
• Coordinate patient transfers with Retrieval Services Queensland
• Participate in the on-call and after-hours roster
• Contribute to clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement
• Mentor and supervise junior doctors and medical students
