Standards Specialist | 2 Year Contract | NV 1 Security Clearance required
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Standards Specialist to join their team. This pivotal role supports their transition by managing, maintaining, and advancing technical standards across their system to ensure seamless system interoperability.
The successful candidate will apply advanced communications engineering expertise to support digital integration, focusing on standards management for intra-platform and inter-platform systems. You will work closely with our client's personnel, acquisition agencies, and external partners, to facilitate standards development and implementation.
- 2 Year contract
- Canberra location - onsite 5 days per week
- Due to the nature of the work, only candidates holding a current, active NV1 security clearance will be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Manage C4 standards including development of standards profiles and standards roadmaps.
- Facilitation of standards working groups for C4 standards development
- Support to multi-national standards projects and configuration management boards.
- Maintenance and development of specified standards.
- Undertake the monitoring of specified internal and external standards.
- Enable the provision of expert advice to the client's staff on standards implementation options with a focus on capability outcomes.
- Provide expert advice to projects in both acquisition and sustainment through the Advice Team.
- Participate in the development of test cases to support standards conformance testing.
- Provide other ad hoc services as tasked by the client.
About You:
- A strong background with a Communications Engineering degree or extensive relevant experience (8+ years) in standards management.
- Demonstrated expertise with communications networks, tactical data links (e.g., TCP/IP, RF networks), and C4 standards development or management.
- Exceptional communication skills to articulate complex standards concepts effectively to diverse audiences including client stakeholders and non-technical personnel.
- Familiarity with engineering processes and standards frameworks is highly desirable.
- Ability to work primarily onsite in Canberra with occasional interstate and international travel as required.
