Role Description
We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Multimedia Digital Designer to join our Melbourne studio in a full-time, hybrid role.
We're looking for a designer who creates engaging digital work across websites, campaigns, branding, multimedia, and interactive experiences that align with client goals and brand requirements. This role focuses on delivering high-quality interactive and visual design solutions across a range of digital platforms, including websites, mobile interfaces, and campaign experiences.
You will work collaboratively within a cross-functional team to translate concepts and requirements into compelling, user-centred digital designs.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Determine the objectives and constraints of design briefs through consultation with internal stakeholders and clients
- Undertake research and analyse user, business, and communication requirements for digital and multimedia projects
- Develop visual design concepts, visual strategies, and interaction approaches to meet project and client objectives
- Design and produce interactive and multimedia digital experiences across websites, mobile interfaces, and campaign platforms
- Create high-quality user interface designs, layouts, and visual communication systems aligned with client brand guidelines and project requirements
- Produce storyboards, wireframes, and interactive prototypes to communicate design concepts and intent
- Design graphics, animations, micro-interactions, transitions, and interactive behaviours to enhance usability and engagement
- Translate user and business requirements into clear, effective, and visually refined design solutions
- Select and recommend appropriate media, platforms, tools, and delivery methods for digital production
- Produce high-fidelity interface designs and detailed design specifications to support development and implementation
- Collaborate closely with developers and technical teams to ensure accurate implementation of designs within technical constraints
- Review, evaluate, and refine designs to ensure alignment with usability standards, accessibility considerations, project requirements, and brand guidelines
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of design systems, component libraries, and reusable UI patterns
- Participate in project discovery sessions, workshops, and internal reviews to support concept development and solution design
- Work across a range of multimedia and digital projects, including campaign experiences, marketing websites, and digital products
- Liaise with designers, motion designers, developers, producers, copywriters, and other stakeholders to communicate and present design solutions
- Manage multiple design tasks and priorities to meet project timelines and deliverables within a cross-functional team environment
Tools and Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Figma for interface design, prototyping, and collaborative workflows
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects
- Understanding of responsive digital design principles and digital production workflows
- Familiarity with motion design, animation, and interactive digital behaviours
- Understanding of responsive design principles and front-end development constraints
Experience and Capability
- At least 1 year of experience in a digital design role as a Multimedia Designer
- Completion of a Bachelor of Design, Digital Media, or Communications (or higher qualification)
- Demonstrated experience delivering interactive digital and multimedia design outputs
- Strong ability to balance creative thinking with practical execution
- Experience working across web, mobile and digital campaign environments
Pay Range
- The expected salary range for this position is $77,000 to $87,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience and capability.
