Data Migration Lead

We’re partnering with a well-known Australian organisation currently delivering a major enterprise transformation program.

As part of this initiative, they are seeking a Data Migration Lead to take ownership of the end-to-end migration workstream, helping drive the successful transition from a legacy system to a new solution.

This role will suit someone who combines strong technical data migration capability with the ability to lead stakeholder engagement, coordinate across teams, and provide structure across a complex migration environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end data migration stream across a major transformation program
• Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to define migration requirements, data structures, and critical data domains
• Drive data mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation activities between legacy and target systems
• Establish and oversee migration plans, cutover activities, and data quality processes
• Identify data risks, gaps, inconsistencies, and remediation strategies across multiple systems
• Coordinate migration activities across business, integration, and technical delivery teams
• Ensure business-critical data is cleansed, aligned, and fit for operational and reporting purposes
• Provide leadership and direction across migration activities, ensuring timelines, dependencies, and deliverables are managed effectively
• Support testing cycles including SIT, UAT, and production readiness activities

Key Skills & Experience

• Proven experience leading data migration workstreams within large-scale transformation programs
• Strong hands-on experience across data mapping, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and migration delivery
• Experience working across legacy platforms and modern cloud-based environments
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work across both business and technical teams
• Solid technical capability across SQL, Excel, and data analysis tools
• Strong understanding of data structures, data quality, and migration governance practices
• Experience managing large and complex datasets across multiple business domains
• Excellent communication and documentation skills with the ability to drive outcomes in fast-paced environments
