Snowflake | dbt | PostgreSQL | APIs | ETL/ELT | Data Modelling | AI/Data Workflows

This is a startup building a platform across the property and insurance space, helping buyers, owners, insurers and brokers better understand building risk through data.

The foundations are already in place. Snowflake, dbt, ingestion pipelines, AI extraction workflows, benchmarking models. Now they need someone to help operationalise, scale, and mature the platform further.

Where do you come in

You’re someone who enjoys solving messy data problems rather than just maintaining pipelines.

You’re comfortable working across engineering, analytics, product, and commercial conversations.

You think about how data should be structured, validated, scaled, and ultimately turned into something commercially valuable.

You spot inefficiencies, challenge thinking, and want to improve systems over time rather than work around them.

Challenge and opportunity

• Join a lean, high-impact team building a genuinely unique data product

• Work on large scale ingestion and standardisation of fragmented property and insurance data

• Help operationalise AI-powered extraction workflows and modern data pipelines

• Influence how data products, APIs, and marketplace opportunities evolve commercially

• Work closely with leadership and help shape the future direction of the platform

• Opportunity for the role to grow strategically as the business scales

What you will be doing

• Designing and improving data pipelines and ingestion workflows

• Working across Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and dbt transformation layers

• Improving validation, observability, consistency, and trust in datasets

• Supporting API integrations and external data ingestion

• Working alongside AI extraction and ingestion systems to improve scalability and reliability

• Contributing to data modelling, architecture, and platform direction

• Collaborating across product, engineering, and leadership teams

What we are looking for

• Strong SQL and data modelling capability

• Experience across Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and dbt

• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT and modern data platform environments

• Experience working with APIs and external data integrations

• Someone comfortable operating in ambiguity within a lean environment

• Strong communication skills and ability to explain trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders

• Commercial mindset and ownership mentality

Nice to have

• Snowflake marketplace exposure

• AI/LLM or document extraction pipeline exposure

• Property, insurance, or financial services data experience

• Startup or fast-moving product environment experience

Culture and work style

The team values curiosity, ownership, pragmatism, and people who genuinely enjoy solving complex problems. It’s collaborative, fast moving, and highly visible work tied directly to commercial outcomes.

If you are someone who wants to help shape a modern data platform rather than just maintain one, this could be a really strong fit.
