Compliance Officer
Rethink Investing AUS & NZ
Rethink Group is one of Australia’s leading property investment groups, having acquired more than $6 billion in assets for clients. With business divisions spanning Rethink Investing, Rethink Financing, Rethink Residential, and more, we deliver a fully integrated ecosystem of property investment, finance, and education services across Australia and New Zealand.
The Role
We’re looking for a sharp, commercially minded Compliance & Governance Officer to help keep one of Australia’s most ambitious property investment groups compliant, agile, and ahead of the curve. In this role, you’ll work across multiple regulated businesses, partnering with stakeholders to manage risk, strengthen controls, and keep AUSTRAC, ASIC, AFSL, and state-based real estate licensing obligations on track.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the day-to-day coordination of our AML/CTF and KYC processes, supported by a dedicated compliance platform covering customer identification, risk assessment, sanctions screening, ongoing monitoring, and record-keeping.
- Lead client onboarding, due diligence, and record-keeping processes to ensure compliance from day one.
- Run compliance reviews across business units, translate findings into practical actions, and work with stakeholders to close risks and control gaps.
- Provide practical compliance advice across new initiatives, services, and evolving business activities, and help shape workable solutions from the outset.
- Drive compliance projects across the business, from implementation through to continuous improvement.
- Maintain oversight of key regulatory obligations across AUSTRAC, ASIC, AFSL requirements, and state-based real estate licensing frameworks.
- Help implement and strengthen operational, risk, and compliance frameworks, policies, and controls across the group.
- Prepare clear management reporting on compliance performance, emerging risks, and control gaps.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years’ experience in a compliance, risk, or regulatory role.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to turn regulation into clear, practical guidance.
- Confidence using AI tools, or a genuine curiosity about how they can improve compliance monitoring, reporting, and reviews.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- A tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance, legal or a related discipline is advantageous, but not essential.
Why Choose Rethink?
- Additional staff benefits including discounted gym memberships, employee discounts across our services, anniversary gifts, and organised charity and community engagement days.
- Work on meaningful, high-impact projects across a diverse portfolio of ten brands.
- Join a fast-moving business that is redefining how property investment is delivered in Australia.
- Be part of a team that values fresh thinking, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Grow your career with strong mentorship, development opportunities, and exposure to experienced leaders.
- Enjoy flexible working arrangements and a high-trust environment.
- Take part in Friday socials, team events, and a culture that genuinely values connection.
- Join a business where people, performance, and progress matter equally.
