The Role
We are currently seeking experienced Trainers & Assessors to join our Canberra team in on-site, contract roles. Successful candidates will be responsible for delivering and assessing one or more of the following nationally recognised qualifications:
- CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)
- CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support
- CHC52021 Diploma of Community Services
Candidates who hold qualifications and experience in all three courses will be prioritised for broader teaching opportunities across the programs. Those with expertise in only one course are still strongly encouraged to apply and will be assigned to the relevant area of delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver effective, engaging training sessions aligned with the courses' curriculum
- Conduct assessments using various methods including written work, case studies, role plays, and workplace-based observations
- Provide clear and constructive feedback to students to support learning outcomes
- Maintain comprehensive student records and assessment documentation in compliance with ASQA requirements
- Continuously improve training materials to reflect current industry practices
- Stay up to date with legislative changes and trends in the community services sector
- Work closely with fellow trainers and support staff to ensure student success
Required Qualifications
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122)
- Relevant qualification(s) in:
_ Individual Support (Disability) – AQF Level 3 or above
_ Ageing Support – AQF Level 4 or above
_ Community Services – Diploma level or above
Skills & Experience
- Recent and relevant industry experience in disability support, aged care, or community services
- Experience delivering and assessing accredited vocational training
- Strong understanding of relevant industry standards and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Competency in using Learning Management Systems and Microsoft Office
Desirable (Optional)
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Valid National Police Check
- Experience with international student cohorts
