What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Road Inspector to undertake inspections of Council’s roads and stormwater assets. This role plays a key part in identifying defects, assessing risk, and supporting timely maintenance to ensure a safe and reliable transport network for our community.
What Your Day Will Look Like
- Undertake routine and targeted inspections of roads, footpaths and drainage
- Identify and assess defects, hazards and service issues
- Record inspection outcomes accurately in Council systems
- Recommend maintenance priorities and responses
- Liaise with works crews, supervisors and contractors
- Respond to customer enquiries and escalate urgent safety matters

What You’ll Need For Success
- Valid class C or CA driver license (learner, provisional or open) to drive a vehicle in Queensland
- General Construction Induction (White Card)
- Experience undertaking field inspections of transport or drainage assets
- Ability to assess defects against standards and service levels
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping
What’s Nice To Have
- Certificate IV in Civil Construction (or equivalent knowledge)
- Local government road maintenance experience
- Traffic management or traffic control accreditation
- Experience using asset, works or GIS systems
- Knowledge of Austroads or Qld TMR standards
