About the role
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Billing Clerk to join our highly regarded Intellectual Property team in Melbourne, supporting Partner, Bill Ladas and the wider Trade Marks practice.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity ideally suited to someone with a strong interest in billing and financial administration within a professional services environment.
In this position, you will take primary responsibility for billing across a dedicated portfolio of Trade Marks clients. You will work closely with Bill Ladas and the team to ensure accurate, timely invoicing while maintaining a high level of client service.
Your responsibilities will include
- Managing end-to-end billing for your own client portfolio
- Preparing and issuing invoices in line with client requirements
- Liaising with fee earners to ensure accurate time recording and billing practices
- Monitoring WIP and assisting with billing forecasts
- Responding to client queries relating to invoices
- Supporting general practice management and administrative tasks as required
While this role is predominantly billing-focused, there will also be some involvement in traditional practice assistant duties to support the broader team when needed.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Previous experience in a billing or finance administration role, ideally within a legal or professional services environment
- Experience with Elite3E or similar is highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Confidence working with stakeholders at all levels
- A proactive and team-oriented approach
- Experience within Intellectual Property or Trade Marks is advantageous but not essential
