Finance Director

The Company

A well-known Melbourne-based tech business with a significant global audience is searching for a Finance Director to join their leadership team. The business operates across multiple international markets, is backed by a respected European parent group, and is in the middle of a genuinely exciting commercial transformation.

The incoming Finance Director will inherit a strong foundation and a talented team — and will be expected to build on it, not rebuild it. You'll own the full finance function end to end and partner directly with a world-class CEO as their closest commercial and financial advisor.

The formal reporting line sits with a Group CFO based in Europe — an experienced executive with a strong international pedigree. You'll be the most senior finance leader on the ground in Melbourne, operating with genuine autonomy and genuine accountability.

The Role

• Full ownership of the finance function — reporting, FP&A, controllership, compliance, treasury and tax
• Direct CEO partnership on commercial strategy, financial planning and the execution of a significant new revenue growth initiative
• Group-level reporting into a globally distributed leadership structure across multiple time zones
• Lead, develop and inspire a small, high-performing finance team
• Drive continuous improvement across financial systems, processes and reporting quality
• Hands-on and strategic in equal measure — this business needs someone who can think at the executive level and still get into the detail when it matters

What We're Looking For

• CA or CPA qualified
• Proven experience owning the full finance function end to end
• Background in a lean, high-growth or scale-up environment
• Comfortable with a globally distributed stakeholder structure
• Demonstrated ability to influence and advise at the executive level
• AI-forward mindset — the business has a genuine and active culture of AI adoption and you'll be expected to contribute to that, not observe it

• Location: Melbourne (hybrid model, with office presence encouraged)
• $220k - $260k base + superannuation + 20% STI
