Windows Systems Engineer

We’re currently seeking a Windows Systems Engineer to join a high-impact project supporting a legacy Windows environment while helping design and implement a new modern infrastructure for a group of researchers.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain a legacy Windows VM environment and its users
- Contribute to migration of researchers to a modern platform
- Manage day-to-day systems, network, and storage administration
- Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and optimize performance, availability, and security
- Collaborate with project teams to design and implement solutions
- Help build and improve a new computing environment
Required Skills
- Strong experience with Windows Server 2016+ and Windows 10+ and good experience with XCP-NG (preferred) or VMware.
- Deep knowledge of Active Directory (Domain Controllers, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy)
- Experience with user administration, patching, and security auditing
- Extensive experience with virtualised environments (desktop/server)
Desirable Skills
- PowerShell scripting and automation
- Infrastructure as Code tools (SaltStack, Ansible)
- Security tools (Defender, CrowdStrike)
- Experience in research/scientific environments
