About the Role

As the Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining modern data pipelines and platforms that support enterprise-wide analytics and reporting capabilities. You will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable data solutions.

This role suits someone who enjoys solving complex data challenges, improving data quality, and contributing to a growing cloud-based analytics environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and workflows
  • Build and support cloud-based data solutions using Azure technologies
  • Develop and optimise ETL and data integration processes
  • Support large-scale data processing and analytics environments
  • Manage and maintain data storage solutions and performance optimisation
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across data engineering platforms
  • Develop Power BI datasets, dataflows, workspaces, and reporting infrastructure
  • Ensure data security, governance, compliance, and access controls are maintained
  • Monitor data platform performance and proactively identify improvements

Functional Responsibilities

  • Support the ongoing uplift of enterprise data infrastructure and architecture
  • Lead and contribute to data migration activities and reduction of legacy data silos
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Assess data integrity and identify data quality issues and gaps
  • Manipulate and transform data from multiple source systems
  • Document data engineering standards, processes, and technical requirements
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across data engineering practices
  • Provide technical guidance and support to internal stakeholders

Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience with Python and SQL
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics
  • Experience working with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI
  • Knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark
  • Experience integrating data sources through APIs, ETL tools, and custom connectors
  • Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance practices
  • Experience supporting enterprise data platforms and analytics environments

  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
