Head of Engineering

We are looking for an exceptional Head of Engineering to lead our next phase.

This is not a “keep the lights on” leadership role. It is a hands-on technical leadership position for someone who can operate at depth across architecture, infrastructure, delivery, people leadership, and enterprise credibility — while moving with the urgency and pragmatism of a scale-up environment.

As part of Prophet’s next evolution, we are expanding our agentic AI capabilities — building systems that move beyond reporting and insight generation toward autonomous decision support, orchestration, and operational intelligence. This role will play a critical part in establishing the AI infrastructure, deployment systems, and engineering foundations required to support that vision at scale.

What you'll be doing

Our new Head of Engineering will own the reliability, scalability, and long-term evolution of Prophet’s core engineering and data platform.

• You will inherit a sophisticated and deeply capable platform environment spanning large-scale data ingestion, transformation pipelines, proprietary orchestration systems, AI infrastructure, and customer-facing platform services.
• The platform has been built with high technical ambition and strong engineering standards, and now requires the next phase of operational maturity, scalability, and architectural evolution.
• This role will lead Engineering through a critical transition period while helping define the future operating model of the platform, balancing innovation, reliability, speed, governance, and multi-region scale.
• Working closely with Product, Data Science, Commercial, and Executive Leadership to ensure Engineering acts as a strategic multiplier for the business.

You'll own

Architecture & Scalability

• Strong architectural capability to design systems that support multi-region, multi-customer scale as Prophet grows
• Able to make pragmatic architecture decisions that support near-term delivery, not just long-term ideal-state design
• Experience translating product and business needs into scalable technical patterns, especially as the company prepares for US expansion
• Comfortable working in an environment where current architectural foundations need to be completed, strengthened, and operationalised rather than redesigned from scratch
• Can identify what architectural work is critical now versus what can wait until post–Series A, avoiding over-engineering before the business is ready
• Credible in technical conversations with both internal engineers and enterprise customer stakeholders, articulating why systems are designed the way they are

Platform & Infrastructure Leadership

• Design and implement foundational AI infrastructure to support Prophet’s expanding agentic platform capabilities, including automated training, validation, deployment, orchestration, and model operations workflows
• Own and evolve Prophet’s core data engineering infrastructure
• Maintain and improve custom Golang orchestration and pipeline systems
• Lead the continued evolution of a best-in-class Data Infrastructure
• Build scalable AI infrastructure for Prophet’s next product phase
• Design systems for multi-region and multi-customer scalability
• Improve platform reliability, observability, deployment, and release management
• Balance technical debt reduction with delivery velocity

Engineering Leadership

• Lead and mentor a high-performing technical team
• Establish accountability systems, delivery cadence, and execution discipline
• Build strong engineering culture grounded in ownership, pragmatism, and collaboration
• Hire and onboard additional infrastructure capability, including SysOps support
• Create clarity and alignment across technical priorities

Customer & Commercial Partnership

• Act as a senior technical representative in enterprise customer conversations
• Support strategic deals with technical credibility and architectural guidance
• Partner with commercial teams on enterprise solution design and scalability discussions
• Build confidence with customers operating mission-critical workloads on Prophet infrastructure
