The Role
We are seeking a career paralegal or legal assistant who is eager to develop their expertise in personal injury law.
A significant portion of our client base requires assistance in Vietnamese. As a result, fluency in spoken Vietnamese is essential for this role to enable effective communication with clients and third parties.
You will work closely with our Principal Solicitor and broader legal team across a diverse range of personal injury matters.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Liaising with Vietnamese speaking clients regarding appointments, updates, documentation and general enquiries
- Translating and explaining legal processes to clients in Vietnamese where required
- Preparing and lodging forms, applications and funding requests with the Independent Review Office (IRO) and Personal Injury Commission (PIC)
- Liaising with barristers, medical providers, insurers and external solicitors
- Drafting correspondence and legal documents using LEAP
- Assisting with settlement conferences, hearings and file preparation
What We're Looking For
- 1+ years' experience in personal injury law (workers compensation, motor accidents or similar)
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A team player who can also run with things independently
- Comfortable with deadlines and file management
- Tech savvy with Microsoft Office, Adobe and LEAP
- Familiarity with the Personal Injury Commission (PIC), Independent Review Office (IRO), or NSW Online Registry is a bonus
- Fluency in spoken Vietnamese is essential
