Purpose of the Role

BGIS is seeking an experienced

Facilities Manager with a mechanical trade background to support service delivery within a large, complex healthcare environment in Southport.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will work closely with both client stakeholders and BGIS teams to ensure services are delivered in line with contractual expectations, compliance requirements, and operational priorities. This role plays a key part in maintaining consistency across service delivery while supporting a capable on-site team.

The ideal candidate is grounded, adaptable, and brings a thoughtful, solutions-focused approach. You are comfortable working within structured, KPI-driven environments and value clear communication, mutual respect, and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day facilities management operations, including subcontractors and service providers
  • Support delivery of services in line with contractual KPIs and compliance requirements
  • Manage financial processes including budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, and cost awareness
  • Build and maintain professional, respectful relationships with stakeholders
  • Coordinate maintenance planning and resource allocation across the site
  • Support reporting, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with WHS and environmental standards
  • Support and guide team members, contributing to a respectful and inclusive team environment

Education, Experience & Skills

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience in Facilities Management within complex environments
  • Mechanical trade background with post-trade qualifications (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong understanding of contracts, financials, and service delivery models
  • Experience managing subcontractors and maintenance programs
  • Knowledge of WHS, QA, and environmental systems
  • Proficiency in CMMS and Microsoft Office suite
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative working style

Desirable

  • Experience within healthcare or similarly complex environments
  • Exposure to collaborative or alliance contracting models
  • Experience in sustainability, energy, or environmental initiatives
  • Qualifications in Facilities Management or a related discipline
