About the Role
As a Purchasing Officer based in our Townsville Head Office, you will play a key role in supporting operations through timely, accurate, and commercially focused purchasing.
This role offers exposure to procurement activities across large-scale manufacturing sites, providing valuable experience in a complex, high-volume supply environment.
You will:
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and Accounts Payable
- Ensure purchasing processes are followed efficiently and compliantly
- Support sourcing activities and resolve day-to-day procurement issues
You’ll be part of a collaborative team known for strong mentoring and knowledge sharing, with opportunities to grow into more advanced procurement and contract management responsibilities.
Role Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of purchase requisitions and purchase orders to support uninterrupted operations
- Source goods and services that deliver strong commercial value while meeting operational requirements
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to support reliability, delivery performance, and issue resolution
- Partner with stakeholders and Accounts Payable to resolve purchasing queries, discrepancies, and invoice-related issues
- Maintain high standards of compliance, accuracy, and purchasing administration
About you
We’re looking for someone who brings:
- Experience in a purchasing, procurement, or similar operational support role
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across stakeholders and suppliers
- Proven ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and confidence working across systems and processes
- Solid Microsoft Office skills, with SAP experience highly regarded
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes
Exposure to manufacturing, industrial, or supply chain environments will be highly regarded.
