Trademark Paralegal

Moss & Co Consulting have partnered with an international, top-tier Law firm on the recruitment of a Trademark Paralegal/Legal Executive opportunity in the IP team.

You will join a collaborative and high performing Intellectual Property team led by a Partner, working closely alongside experienced lawyers and specialist Trade Marks professionals across a broad range of interesting and complex matters.

The Opportunity

This is a hands on and client-facing role suited to somebody who enjoys responsibility, accuracy and relationship management within a busy IP environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing end-to-end trade mark prosecution matters, including renewals and portfolio maintenance
• Preparing and filing new trade mark applications with IP Australia and IPONZ
• Monitoring and managing deadlines across trade mark portfolios
• Maintaining records within WebTMS and related systems
• Preparing renewal notices, powers of attorney, assignments and related filings
• Conducting trade mark clearance and due diligence searches
• Liaising directly with clients and foreign agents regarding filings and portfolio management
• Assisting lawyers with broader intellectual property matters, including disputes and litigation support during peak periods
• Supporting both billable and fixed fee matters within a collaborative team environment

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:

• Previous experience within a Trade Marks Paralegal, Trade Marks Administrator or Intellectual Property support role
• Strong understanding of trade mark prosecution processes and IP Australia requirements
• Experience using WebTMS or similar IP management systems
• Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with clients
