The Client Services Team within the Fixed Income division performs a critical function within the back office by providing comprehensive support to clients as well as all internal stakeholders. Client Services is a centre point of the company who in addition to managing client onboarding, queries and static data, is also responsible for many other operational processes including bond setup and maintenance, fees and counterparty due diligence. This role is suitable for someone who is looking to expand their skills in the intermediary back office functions in a complex financial services business.
While this position has clearly defined responsibilities the purpose of the role is to support the Client Services team, this means that a successful candidate will be able to complete their defined tasks but shouldn’t hesitate to support the wider team. Being a team player and having a “can-do” attitude will make all the difference to succeeding in this role.
What Will You Be Doing
This role is based in Brisbane and will have accountability for:
- Completing the on-boarding process for new clients, counterparties and intermediaries as well as perform AML/CTF checks and KYC due diligence
- Assisting with security and client static data maintenance and ensure sign-off and control around static data changes with relevant approvals
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of standard processes across the team, and the coordination of seminars and training events
- Making suggestions for improving processes and efficiencies and in cooperation with other departments participate in ongoing and ad-hoc projects
- Constantly liaising between the front and back office to ensure seamless transactions and client experience
- Answering client queries on the phone and on emails by monitoring the team email inbox
We’d love to hear from passionate people who have:
- 1-3 years relevant experience in financial services (preferably banking) or client services
- Tertiary qualifications in finance, banking, mathematics or related degree
- Enthusiasm and a helpful attitude
- Comfort with autonomy and new tasks
- An interest in learning new tasks and skills
- MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent people skills, with a willingness to exceed client expectations
- Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to engage and interact with clients and key stakeholders at all levels
- Professional manner backed up by strong written and verbal communication skills
- Possesses skills in planning, organisation and can meet deadlines
