An established and growing construction business based in Morningside is seeking a Management Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on finance professional who enjoys working in a fast‑paced, operational environment where no two days are the same. This role would suit someone who is happy to roll up their sleeves, support across the full finance function, and contribute to both project accounting and transactional activities when needed.

Your new role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting both the financial and project accounting functions of the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Month‑end close activities, including journals, accruals and prepayments
• Balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
• Preparation of management reports and project financial insights
• Supporting WIP, job costing and project tracking
• Assisting with cashflow forecasting and budgeting
• Supporting compliance requirements including BAS and statutory reporting
• Hands‑on support across AP and transactional processes, including invoice processing and reconciliations
• Partnering with operational teams to support project outcomes and financial performance

What you'll need to succeed

• Degree qualified in Accounting or Finance
• CA/CPA qualified or working towards
• 3–5+ years’ accounting experience, ideally in a project or operational environment
• Exposure to construction or project‑based industries is desirable but not essential
• Strong Excel and analytical skills
• A genuine hands‑on mindset, with willingness to support across all areas of finance including AP
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Strong communication skills and a team‑first attitude
