Technical Data Business Analyst

We’re working with a recognised Australian business currently investing heavily into its enterprise data and reporting capability.

They are looking for a Senior Data Business Analyst to support a range of reporting and transformation initiatives across the organisation. This role will sit between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, helping shape requirements, improve reporting processes and ensure data solutions are aligned to business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with business stakeholders to gather, analyse and document reporting and operational requirements

• Review and improve current reporting processes, data flows and business workflows

• Translate business problems into clear functional requirements and actionable outcomes

• Facilitate workshops, stakeholder discussions and requirement refinement sessions

• Develop user stories, process documentation, functional specifications and acceptance criteria

• Partner with reporting, analytics and engineering teams to support solution delivery

• Assist in defining KPIs, reporting metrics and success measures across key business areas

• Support data quality, reporting uplift and process improvement initiatives

• Contribute to backlog management, delivery planning and project coordination activities

• Produce documentation including process maps, business rules and data-related artefacts

• Work across multiple stakeholder groups to ensure alignment throughout delivery

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience working as a Business Analyst across data, reporting or transformation programs

• Strong communication and stakeholder management capability

• Experience working within enterprise reporting or analytics environments

• Strong understanding of business processes, reporting structures and data-driven decision making

• Ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders

• Experience working in Agile delivery environments

• Exposure to BI and reporting platforms

• Someone comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving project environments
