Data Analyst

About This Role

• Turn complex justice data into clear public insights.
• Build dashboards and reports that shape services across Victoria.
• Work with skilled analysts on major crime and justice projects.
• Use modern tools to create better data products and reporting.
• 1 x Fixed-term position until 30th June 2027 and two ongoing, full-time roles available, earning $100,894 - $114,476 per year, plus super.

What You Will Do

As data analyst, you will support public reporting and data analysis across the justice system.

You will help teams deliver trusted data products, reports and insights for Victoria.

You Will

• develop accurate data reports and statistical analysis for public and internal use
• create clear dashboards, datasets and automated reporting tools
• prepare useful written and visual findings for different audiences
• maintain secure databases and follow privacy and data security rules
• coordinate timely responses to data requests and reporting needs.

About You

Qualifications in data analytics, criminology, psychology, statistics, mathematics, econometrics or data science are highly desirable. Experience with quantitative research methods will also help you succeed.

You Should Also Have

• experience working with large datasets and repeatable reporting methods
• skills using SQL, Power BI, AWS Redshift or similar analysis tools
• ability to explain complex data in clear and simple ways
• strong problem-solving, teamwork and planning skills.
