FOR THOSE WHO DON’T KNOW US
- We are The Bite Project. We stand for Big Ideas and Thoughtful Experiences—and we have the awards (and the incredible team) to prove it!
- We design and deliver all kinds of events and brand experiences. Sophisticated celebrations & galas, fun & engaging employee experiences, strategic conferences, and creative environmental design.
- Our values are Be Curious, Always Thoughtful, and A Job Well Done—and we really, truly live them every day of the week! It’s how we show up both for projects and each other. We are genuinely interested in our client’s businesses and delivering outstanding results.
- We’re a tight-knit team that is passionate but not precious—we’re deeply invested in the work and even more so in each other, maintaining an ego-free culture built on shared lunches, genuine check-ins, and a universal ‘good humans only’ policy.
YOU’RE OUR KIND OF PERSON IF YOU…
- Have 8+ years’ experience, including event creative in the mix, ideally within a fast-paced agency. We might be small, but we’re high performing and expect the same from you.
- Design creative concepts, themes, and strategic creative territories that align with client needs, brands and briefs—not just sexy work (although some of that too!). You create sustainable, considerate, on-brand work.
- Care about the big picture and all the small details, such as how it will come to life through activations, branding, swag, stand and stage design, animations, copywriting…the lot!
- Are a Creative Director who is organised and can support your team when needed through occasional traffic and project management. This is a small, but integral part of working in a small business.
- Provide design expertise, advice, mentoring, energy, integrity and leadership to the creative team.
- Love solving all sorts of problems. You can untangle complexity with grace, pivot an idea on a dime, know how to prioritise when everyone thinks they are priority one, and read a room before the first slide even hits the screen.
- Know being a Creative Director is one part delivering juicy, inspiring work that sings, and one part being a strategic leader who is genuinely invested in the growth of the business.
- Know your job is more than living on a mountain top coming up with ideas—it’s about delivering on time, on budget, and on brief experiences. And occasionally rolling up your sleeves and knowing when to lean in with your skills to support the team.
- Love people and stay calm under pressure. You build strong relationships with the whole team, feel very, very comfortable presenting your ideas to client, and know feedback is part of your BAU.
- Have storytelling sensibility, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly through concepts, mood boards, rationales or sketches.
- Maintain a high level of craft, attention to detail and pride in the quality of creative output. You ensure every interaction with the BITE brand upholds a consistent tone of voice and exceeds expectations.
- Don’t just say you have attention to detail, you show it from the first interaction till the last! You are constantly finding 1%-ers that make a difference and build to create award winning work.
- Lead creative responses in new business pitches and proactive opportunities.
- Champion an approach that is always asking ‘imagine if' over ‘that’ll do’.
- Love working in fast-paced, culturally driven environments—our positive, give a damn attitude impacts both the work we deliver and how we work with each other.
- Are an early adopter of innovation, tech and AI…who respects the foundations. You’re ready to experiment with the future of events and design while holding the line on top-tier storytelling.
PERKS
Work life balance isn’t just something we say, it’s something the Founders champion. We aren’t an agency that waits until the last minute or pulls an all-nighter to get it done. Our hybrid, flexible work model is tried and tested to ensure all team members feel they contribute in a collaborative, creative, and supportive business. We value culture over corporate fluff. That means weekly breakfasts, quarterly social events, employee referral incentives, a yearly day of leave to fill your cup in any way of your choosing! Our office is located at The Commons Wellington St, which additionally supplies a range of benefits, including free tap beer, community gatherings, Lunch & Learns, ping pong table, cinema hire, access to its 12 sites across Melbourne...the list goes on!
