Network & Infrastructure Security Analyst (AI Training)

About The Role

We're looking for hands-on security practitioners to help train and evaluate cutting-edge AI systems. Working with Alignerr — a partner to the world's leading AI research labs — you'll bring your real-world security expertise to the frontier of AI development. Your knowledge of how threats, controls, and failures interact in production environments will directly shape how AI understands and reasons about cybersecurity.

This is a rare opportunity to apply deep security domain knowledge in a high-impact, flexible freelance role — no commute, no meetings, just meaningful work on your schedule.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Analyze network, endpoint, and email security scenarios across realistic modern enterprise environments
  • Review firewall, EDR, and infrastructure security cases to determine what went wrong, why, and what the business impact was
  • Classify incidents, misconfigurations, and control failures based on real operational data
  • Create, label, and validate security training and evaluation datasets used to improve AI systems
  • Clearly articulate root causes and recommended remediations in written form

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of experience in network, infrastructure, or endpoint security roles
  • Familiarity with firewalls, EDR platforms, email security, IAM, SIEMs, and enterprise security tooling
  • Strong understanding of how organizations deploy and operate security controls in practice
  • Able to explain complex security issues — their causes, impact, and remediation — clearly and concisely in writing
  • Self-directed and comfortable working independently on task-based assignments

Nice to Have

  • Experience in incident response, threat hunting, or security operations (SOC)
  • Background in penetration testing or red team operations
  • Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) or Zero Trust architectures
  • Prior experience contributing to AI, data labeling, or security research projects

Why Join Us

  • Work directly on frontier AI projects with leading research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — set your own hours and workload
  • Freelance autonomy with the backing of a globally collaborative team
  • Apply your security expertise to a genuinely novel and impactful problem space
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
