About The Role

We're building next-generation AI systems for aviation and autonomous flight — and we need people who actually understand what's happening on the radio. If you've spent time in a cockpit, a tower, or just tuned into LiveATC for fun, your expertise has real value here.

This is not generic transcription work. This is a specialized, high-impact role where your knowledge of aviation phraseology directly shapes how AI systems learn to understand real-world flight communications.

  • Organization: Alignerr (Powered by Labelbox)
  • Type: Hourly / Task-Based Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Transcribe real-world Air Traffic Control (ATC) and pilot audio recordings with precision
  • Label speakers, callsigns, instructions, and readbacks accurately
  • Capture aviation terminology, abbreviations, and standard phraseology correctly
  • Work on task-based assignments at your own pace and schedule
  • Maintain high accuracy standards — quality is critical on this project

Who You Are

  • A pilot, student pilot, Air Traffic Controller, or aviation professional
  • An aviation enthusiast who regularly listens to and understands ATC communications
  • Someone with a strong grasp of ICAO/FAA phraseology and radio communication standards
  • Extremely detail-oriented — you catch what others miss in fast, noisy audio
  • Patient and thorough when working through challenging recordings

You do not need a professional transcription background — but you absolutely need to understand how pilots and controllers communicate.

Nice to Have

  • Active or former pilot certificate (any category)
  • Current or former ATC experience
  • Familiarity with IFR procedures, approach clearances, and en-route communications
  • Experience with audio annotation or data labeling tools
