The role

As a Platform Engineer specialising in Identity & Technical Services, you will be instrumental in providing technical guidance, leading infrastructure solutions, and supporting our critical on-premise and hybrid cloud resources. Your expertise will be essential in enhancing our infrastructure's performance, security, and audit compliance, particularly within the identity management space.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Providing expert technical guidance and leading the delivery of infrastructure solutions.
  • Transforming, modernising, and supporting critical workloads across both on-premise and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Contributing to the development and enhancement of platform roadmaps to meet current and future infrastructure needs.
  • Acting as a Subject Matter Expert, offering responsive and specialist technical support for intricate problems (Level 3 escalation).
  • Implementing and maintaining robust monitoring, logging, and alerting tools to ensure system health and performance.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives for platform reliability, scalability, efficiency, and security.
  • Collaborating with the DevOps team to automate deployment and maintenance processes, ensuring high system availability.
  • Contributing to the maintenance and improvement of our Infrastructure Technology knowledge base and procedures.
  • Undertaking studies of new technologies and innovations to foster continuous improvement and drive innovation.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, prudential standards (APRA), and contributing to risk mitigation efforts.
  • Building capability in junior staff through effective knowledge sharing, training, and mentoring.

What Experience You'll Bring

We are looking for a skilled Platform Engineer with a strong background in system administration, operations, and solutions implementation.

  • Demonstrable solid understanding and practical experience of relevant system administration, operations, support, and solutions implementation.
  • Ability to articulate complex technical solutions clearly to both business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Advanced hands-on system administration and problem-solving skills, with at least 2 years of experience and knowledge of two or more of the following technologies:
    • Okta Identity Engine
    • CyberArk PVWA
    • Microsoft AD DS
    • AWS Secrets Manager
  • Solid knowledge of systems security, administration practices, standards, and policies.
  • Proficiency in systems automation, scheduling, and scripting.
  • Understanding and practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
  • Experience with password management systems is preferred.
  • Experience with Windows Server or Linux Server environments.
  • Familiarity with enterprise monitoring suites such as New Relic or similar.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure Architecture principles and experience.
  • Experience working within an agile framework.
  • Familiarity with the ServiceNow ecosystem.
  • Understanding of CPS234 or ISO27002 (or similar) frameworks.
  • One or more industry-recognised technical certifications are preferred, such as:
    • AWS Associate Certifications
    • OKTA Professional
    • CyberArk Sentry
    • CompTIA
    • CISSP
    • Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator
