Work with some of Australia’s best restaurants, bars and luxury hotels in this public relations & communications role for storytellers at award-winning boutique marketing agency, Seven Storeys, based in Sydney.

Are you a passionate, collaborative communications person with a knack for crafting compelling narratives and engaging content?

Flourish in our small-but-mighty agency, working alongside fellow PR/comms and marketing creatives on a range of exciting, integrated campaigns, for clients in the hospitality, hotel, tourism and travel industries.

Our current clients include EVT, Accor Hotels (Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, Peppers Marysville Resort & Spa), Kimpton Margot Sydney, The Grumpy Baker, Luke Mangan's Luke's Kitchen, La Madonna, Bistrot Bisou, Hurricane's, Next Melbourne Hotel, Harper Rooftop Bar, and The Sussex Hotel, to name a few.

You'll be responsible for idea development, executing PR strategies, pitching stories, nurturing media and influencer relationships, crafting compelling written materials and social media content, supporting client accounts, and coordinating (and participating in) fun dining, drinking and travel experiences.

This is a full-time position, however we will happily consider part-time applicants for the right fit.

Key responsibilities

  • Feed into and execute integrated public relations and communications strategies aligned with client objectives
  • Develop and pitch newsworthy, engaging story angles and tailored content collaboration ideas to media and influencers
  • Craft compelling communications materials such as media releases, pitches, articles, bios, “about” one-pagers, and Q&As
  • Secure earned coverage and content across media outlets, partner channels and social media platforms (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok)
  • Plan and execute media and influencer visits, famils, events and hosted experiences
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts, influencers, and key stakeholders
  • Act as press office for clients, assessing and responding to reactive PR and partnership enquiries
  • Support on photoshoots and video shoots
  • Media monitoring and social media listening for mentions of clients, providing insightful analysis and data-driven reporting
  • Keep on top of trends, topics and best practices in media and social media to tap into or leverage, and identify and proactively pursue media opportunities and collaborations
  • Copywriting and content support for social media, EDMs and blogs
  • Contribute to the development of creative campaign ideas and product development

About you

  • 1–3 years’ experience in a similar PR, communications, or journalism-focused role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a flair for storytelling and rapport building
  • An understanding of the Australian media and social media landscapes
  • Proven ability and confidence to pitch stories and secure coverage and influencer collaborations
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • A passion for food, drink, travel and hospitality and a collaborative spirit
  • An ability to think outside the square
