Electrical Engineering — AI Data Trainer

About The Role

We partner with the world's leading AI research labs to build and train the next generation of AI models — and we need experienced electrical engineers to help make them smarter.

As an Electrical Engineering AI Trainer, your domain expertise becomes the benchmark. You'll design challenging problems, write authoritative solutions, and audit AI reasoning across topics like circuit analysis, power systems, signal processing, and embedded systems. Your work directly shapes how AI understands and reasons through real engineering problems.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. You choose when and how much you work.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Design Challenging Problems — Create advanced electrical engineering problems across domains including circuit analysis, power systems, signal processing, control systems, and electromagnetics to push AI models to their limits
  • Author Ground-Truth Solutions — Write rigorous, step-by-step technical solutions that serve as the gold standard for AI learning and benchmarking
  • Audit AI Outputs — Evaluate AI-generated code, circuit diagrams, mathematical proofs, and technical explanations for accuracy, safety, and alignment with engineering standards (IEEE, NEC, etc.)
  • Sharpen AI Reasoning — Identify logical flaws and gaps in AI-generated engineering reasoning, then provide structured, actionable feedback to improve model performance

Who You Are

  • Pursuing or holding a Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field
  • Strong foundational knowledge in one or more core EE domains — VLSI, control systems, telecommunications, power electronics, signal processing, or similar
  • Able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and precisely in writing
  • Detail-oriented with a sharp eye for mathematical correctness, circuit logic, and technical documentation
  • No prior AI or data annotation experience required

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data annotation, technical writing, or evaluation systems
  • Familiarity with AI or machine learning workflows
  • Background in simulation tools (MATLAB, SPICE, etc.)

Why Join Us

  • Work on some of the most technically demanding AI projects in existence
  • Fully remote and asynchronous — work on your own schedule
  • Freelance flexibility: autonomy, variety, and collaboration with a global team
  • Gain firsthand exposure to how advanced large language models are trained and evaluated
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
