We are seeking Expressions of Interest for a Deputy Chief Radiographer to support our team across Mersey Community Hospital and Devonport, Tasmania.

As Deputy Chief Radiographer, you will play a key role in supporting the Chief Radiographer, Area Chief and Regional Manager in the coordination of day-to-day operations, team leadership, and maintaining clinical excellence across the region. This position is ideal for an experienced Radiographer looking to take the next step into operational and professional leadership within I-MED.

You will work closely with clinic leadership to help drive service excellence, foster a positive and collaborative workplace culture, and support continuous improvement initiatives across both hospital and outpatient environments.

This is a full-time permanent position, applications for part time will be considered but must be at least 4 days a week.

Key Accountabilities Include

  • Support the Chief Radiographer in the coordination of daily workforce planning, rostering and operational requirements across Mersey and Devonport clinics
  • Assist in managing annual leave planning, sick leave coverage and staffing resource allocation
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and professional support to radiographer staff across the region
  • Ensure outstanding service delivery and support the day-to-day operational management of the department.
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the review and refinement of work practices to improve clinical and operational outcomes
  • Perform routine and specialised medical imaging procedures to the highest professional standards as required
  • Foster strong collaborative relationships with radiologists, referrers, hospital stakeholders and wider clinic teams
  • Support a culture of accountability, professionalism and continuous improvement

Key Selection Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership capability with the ability to coach, mentor and support staff
  • Proven ability to perform high-quality medical imaging examinations to accepted industry standards
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with radiologists, patients, staff and stakeholders
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care
  • Strong alignment with the culture and values of I-MED Radiology Network
