The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced lawyer to join our Insurance Division in Sydney, focusing on workers compensation/work injury damages/common law personal injury matters, representing respondents / defendants. This permanent position is well-suited to an individual that is looking to advance their career and build their practice in a thriving and supportive workplace.
You will be required to have a demonstrated and sound knowledge of the NSW Workers Compensation scheme, and you will be committed to exceeding client service standards, achieving the best outcomes for your clients, whilst contributing to our established culture.
Skills And Experience
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A Bachelor of Laws or equivalent and a current New South Wales practising certificate
- Minimum 2 years' post admission experience in workers compensation/work injury damages/common law personal injury, representing respondents / defendants
- Providing advice on liability, quantum and claims strategies, including highly sensitive claims
- Ability to communicate effectively with third parties, including experts and Counsel
- High degree of initiative, dedication and time management skills, with a strong client and commercial focus
- A commercial approach and ability to articulate and negotiate effectively
- A strong, plain language communication style
