About the Role
The Outbound Sales Consultant role focuses on engaging prospective members through outbound sales activity, managing referred leads and progressing opportunities through the end-to-end sales lifecycle. Sales Consultants apply business judgement and strong relationship building skills to influence outcomes whilst operating within product, underwriting and risk frameworks. In addition to ongoing sales activity, the Sales Consultant delivers targeted outbound campaigns from time to time, which may include data quality initiatives, portfolio reviews or proactive member campaigns. This role requires strong sales capability and the ability to manage a pipeline of opportunities whilst balancing the member experience.
Key Accountabilities
- Outbound sales and conversion of referred leads.
- Ownership and management of a pipeline of sales opportunities.
- Delivery of targeted outbound sales and engagement campaigns.
- Application, offer and sales process management in line with underwriting and risk frameworks
- Contribution to inbound sales and application processing during peak demand periods
- Collaboration and continuous improvement
Key challenges
- Generating and progressing sales opportunities in a competitive and target driven environment
- Managing and prioritising a portfolio of leads from multiple sources to achieve conversion outcomes.
- Balancing proactive sales activity with compliance, underwriting and risk requirements.
- Executing outbound campaigns alongside core sales activity
- Adapting sales approaches in response to product, policy and process changes.
Key skills and experience required
- FSR Tier 2 accreditation
- Previous experience in customer support, sales or administration
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Collaborative mindset and a can‑do attitude
- Fast learner who can quickly understand business processes
- Customer service focus
- Intermediate MS Office skills
