About the opportunity
Werribee Mercy Hospital is a public hospital servicing the growing community of the West. Our Intensive care unit provides care to patients with a variety of medical, surgical and non-invasive cardiac conditions. Our service also includes a 24 hours clinical liaison service, rapid response service and clinical educator to facilitate professional development opportunities. Expansion of our service is included in the organisation growth strategy which includes plans for a new Emergency Department due for completion in 2027 and other future developments leading towards becoming a Tertiary facility.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experience Critical Care Nurse to join our Intensive Care team.
- Ensure the delivery of high quality, patient focused clinical care to patients in the ICU
- Demonstrate excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Be part of a multi-disciplinary team which requires you to provide highly responsive and flexible service to consumers and carers.

To thrive in this role, you will have:
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
- Post Graduate qualification or equivalent in Critical Care Nursing is essential
- Demonstrated experience in Critical Care Nursing
- Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Have the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary diverse and innovative team
- Demonstrate and practice within the core values of Mercy Health.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders both internally external stakeholders to facilitate patient care.
- Work a rotating roster across AM/PM/Night Duty or 12 hour day/nights across a seven day roster.
You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:
- A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
