Job Overview
We are looking for an SAP BASIS System Administrator to start immediately for an SAP Upgrade project. This is an urgent requirement.
Responsibilities
- Provide BASIS and technical support for the organisation’s SAP Upgrade project landscape and all interfaces, ensuring issues are addressed promptly.
- Perform all BASIS-related activities during the SAP upgrade, ensuring activities are completed within the project timeline and that appropriate documentation is maintained.
- Creation of tickets with SAP ECS and CAS for upgrade prerequisites and upgrade activities, ensuring required lead times are met.
- Liaise with third-party vendors and the SAP RISE team to obtain and install the latest versions of add-on products compatible with S/4HANA 2025, where required.
- Complete shakedown testing and resolve defects identified relating to upgrade activities undertaken by SAP.

- Fulfil prerequisites and hand over systems to SAP for upgrade activities.
- Finalise application-related adjustments such as SPDD/SPAU.
- Prepare the S/4HANA DEV system and install software specified in the prerequisite list provided by SAP.
- Provide SAP with the required system, hardware, and software access necessary to perform their activities, including access to agreed collaboration platforms such as SharePoint and MS Teams.
- Work closely with BAU and project resources to ensure there is no conflict between BAU and project activities.
- Good exposure to SAP Cloud products such as BTP, Cloud Identity Services, Work Zone, Task Centre, Analytics Cloud, Cloud Connector, etc.
- Experience working with the SAP maintenance lifecycle, including understanding SAP/non-SAP interfaces and upstream/downstream system impacts.
- Work with the SAP HEC team to perform infrastructure-related activities, including system copies and post-copy health checks.
- Provide technical advice and support for finance projects, including proposed solution landscape changes, environment changes, and outages.
- Liaise with SAP vendor teams to address SAP landscape issues, update tickets promptly, and monitor progress to ensure resolution within SLA timeframes.
- Responsible for effective technical knowledge transfer from the project team during project go-live handover.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL best practices, including ServiceNow change management and Jira Agile methodologies.
- Excellent understanding of industry-standard landscape management practices.
- Assess the implications of issues and provide well-considered options to internal stakeholders.
- Make judgements and decisions regarding the SAP system landscape to support delivery of agreed business outcomes.
