Role Overview

As an Intermediate Fire Engineer, you will report directly to the Director in charge. This autonomous role involves full interaction with clients, project managers, and internal/external design teams to deliver complete design documentation for commercial projects — from concept through to construction.

Key aspects of the role include:

• Client briefing, budgeting, and reporting
• Sketch design and full design documentation
• Representing Aston Consulting throughout construction
• Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team on a variety of commercial projects

Key Responsibilities

• Develop cost-effective, pragmatic fire safety engineering solutions
• Liaise and negotiate with relevant authorities on behalf of clients
• Deliver coordinated building services engineering documentation
• Carry out inspections of buildings
• Conduct CAD drafting and computer simulations for fire and egress scenarios
• Undertake continued professional development

Essential Criteria

• Fire Services Engineering Qualification
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Fire Services Engineering (commercial buildings)
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Bluebeam
• Working knowledge of electrical concepts, computers, and software
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (highly regarded but not mandatory)
