We are growing our solar and battery division and are looking for an experienced Solar & Battery Operations Manager to lead our installation operations, manage projects, support installers, and ensure every job is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day delivery of solar and battery installation projects across residential and commercial sites.

You will be responsible for managing installation schedules, coordinating electricians and subcontractors, supporting customers from approval through to installation completion, and ensuring all works meet company, safety, compliance, and quality requirements.

This role is ideal for someone with strong solar/battery industry experience, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate solar PV and battery installation projects from booking through to completion.
• Schedule installation teams, electricians, contractors, inspectors, and subcontractors across multiple sites.
• Ensure all projects are completed on time, safely, and in accordance with customer expectations.
• Provide a high level of customer service from first contact through to installation completion.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, installers, electricians, energy retailers, distributors, inspectors, and internal admin teams.
• Monitor installation quality and ensure all jobs meet Australian standards, network requirements, and company procedures.
• Review job documentation, photos, compliance paperwork, certificates, commissioning records, and handover documents.
• Support grid connection, meter upgrade, inspection, and commissioning processes where required.
• Ensure WHS requirements are followed across all sites, including risk assessments, SWMS, site safety checks, and incident reporting.
• Manage contractor performance and resolve issues quickly and professionally.
• Assist with stock control, material planning, supplier coordination, and installation equipment requirements.
• Track project progress, update internal systems, and provide regular reports to management.
• Identify opportunities to improve installation processes, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
• Support the General Manager and senior management team with operational planning and problem-solving.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience managing solar and battery installation operations is essential.
• Strong understanding of residential and commercial solar PV systems.
• Experience with battery storage systems, hybrid inverters, monitoring platforms, and commissioning processes.
• Ability to coordinate multiple installation teams and projects at the same time.
• Strong knowledge of WHS requirements and safe work practices on construction and electrical worksites.
• Excellent communication skills with customers, installers, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage urgent site or scheduling issues.
• Good understanding of compliance paperwork, installation photos, certificates, and post-installation documentation.
• Experience working with government rebate programs, STCs, VEU, Solar Victoria, or similar programs will be highly regarded.
• Strong computer and administration skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage both employees and subcontractor teams.

Qualifications & Licences

The following will be highly regarded:

• Electrical licence or strong electrical/solar background.
• Solar PV installation experience.
• Battery storage installation or commissioning experience.
• Solar and battery accreditation recognised in Australia.
• Construction Industry White Card.
• Current Victorian driver’s licence.
• Experience using job management software, CRM systems, scheduling platforms, or solar design tools.
• First Aid certificate highly regarded.
