About Coffee Brigade
Coffee Brigade is a not-for-profit organisation that has been supporting people experiencing homelessness or hardship since 1970. Every morning, our volunteers serve free hot drinks and fresh sandwiches to our friends in need, always with a smile and friendly conversation. By meeting someone’s basic needs with consistency and kindness, we give them the chance to start their day feeling a little more seen, a little more supported, and a little more ready to take on whatever comes next.
The Role
We’re looking for someone to join our team in a casual Operations Coordinator role (approx. 8 hours per week, two 4-hour early morning shifts from 6:00 am–10:00 am). This is a hands-on, in-person role based at Coffee Brigade HQ in Windsor, Brisbane, supporting our daily operations, volunteers, and admin tasks to help ensure everything runs smoothly each morning.
Operations
- Assist with preparing vans, including packing supplies and checking stock levels
- Support basic inventory tasks such as restocking and notifying when items are low
- Help with the cleanliness of HQ, vans and workspace, and follow the set daily/weekly procedures list
Volunteer Support
- Assist with welcoming new volunteers and supporting them on shift
- Help ensure shifts run smoothly by supporting team members as needed
- Communicate any volunteer questions or issues to senior staff
Administrative Support
- Assist with responding to basic enquiries or direct them to the appropriate person
- Help with simple admin tasks such as updating lists, printing materials, and organising documents
- Ensure resources (e.g. booklets, forms) are stocked and ready for use
