About the Role
The Prince of Wales Hospital Foundation is seeking an accomplished Head of Philanthropy to lead the organisation’s high-value fundraising and philanthropic growth initiatives. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this role is pivotal to delivering strategic fundraising initiatives by securing sustainable income from high-net-worth (HNW), ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) individuals and strategic philanthropic partners.
The successful candidate will contribute to the Foundation’s philanthropy strategy while cultivating donor relationships that support key hospital initiatives, medical innovation and research. Working closely with the CEO, senior clinicians and key stakeholders, the role centres around identifying new funding opportunities and delivering philanthropic income growth aligned with the Foundation’s strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaboratively develop and implement the Foundation’s philanthropy and growth strategy in alignment with organisational priorities.
- Identify, cultivate and secure new philanthropic funding opportunities from major donors, HNW and UHNW individuals and strategic partners.
- Build and steward long-term relationships with donors, clinicians and senior stakeholders to expand philanthropic networks.
- Translate strategic priorities into measurable fundraising initiatives and income targets.
- Monitor and report on fundraising performance, providing data-driven insights to the CEO and Board.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in philanthropy, fundraising, partnerships or income generation roles with demonstrated success in delivering philanthropic income growth.
- Experience engaging effectively with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and planning capability with experience developing and executing fundraising strategies.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, capable of engaging a wide range of stakeholders.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or significant industry experience in the not-for-profit or charity sector.
