We are seeking a highly capable and compassionate administrator to support a busy Scholarships and Government Funding team during a peak period. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to work that directly supports students to access critical financial assistance, while gaining experience in a fast-paced and purpose-led environment.
The Opportunity
This is a high-volume, detail-focused role where sound judgement, analytical capability, and professionalism are essential. This role supports two key functional areas:
- Scholarships, Bursaries & Emergency Aid: You will assess applications that support students experiencing financial hardship, ensuring fair, accurate, and timely outcomes.
- Commonwealth Placement Payments (CPP): You will assist in determining student eligibility for government-funded placement payments across key sectors such as healthcare, education, and social services.
Working Arrangements
- 0.8 FTE (4 days per week)
- Hybrid model with a minimum of one on-campus day (Wednesday preferred)
- Flexibility for additional hours during peak periods
- Laptop provided; dual screens required for home setup
Key Responsibilities
Assessment and Decision-Making
- Assess scholarship, bursary, and emergency aid applications against eligibility criteria
- Interpret supporting documentation, including payslips, medical records, and financial statements
- Calculate household income and apply rating frameworks
- Review CPP applications, including income verification and eligibility assessment
- Support timely processing of payments and outcomes
Systems and Data Processing
- Maintain accurate records within student systems
- Process scholarship offers, changes, and updates
- Manage tracking spreadsheets and high-volume data entry
- Work across internal systems (training provided as required)
Enquiries and Team Support
- Manage shared inboxes and respond to routine enquiries
- Escalate complex matters appropriately
- Provide operational support across both Scholarships and CPP functions
- Assist with team coverage during leave periods
What You'll Bring
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience reviewing and interpreting complex documentation
- Strong numerical skills, including income calculations and validation
- Advanced Excel capability (data tracking, formulas, data entry)
- Experience working with systems such as student administration platforms or CRMs
- Professional resilience and the ability to manage sensitive information with care
- Adaptability and willingness to work across shifting priorities
Desirable Experience:
- Experience in scholarships, bursaries, equity or financial aid assessment
- Exposure to government-funded programs or higher education environments
- Familiarity with student systems such as TechOne, StudentOne, or similar
