THE ROLE
Responsibilities
The Manager, Prevention Policy and Design will lead the team responsible for the development, design and implementation of Victorian Government policy on the primary prevention of family violence, sexual violence and violence against women. This includes, but is not limited to:
- leading Victorian Government policy on the primary prevention of family violence, sexual violence and violence against women, including through the analysis of emerging research on good prevention practice.
- developing and delivering programs to build awareness of, and prevent sexual violence, including affirmative consent education.
- developing and delivering primary prevention and early intervention programs to engage men and boys and build support for healthy masculinities across the Victorian community.
- exploring opportunities to address technology and cultural changes that contribute to violence, including the harmful use of pornography.
- stakeholder engagement with key primary prevention stakeholders, including through the coordination of the Prevention Reference and Working Group
- Primary relationship management and support for Respect Victoria, as Victoria's dedicated family violence primary prevention agency, and Our Watch as the national organisation for the prevention of violence against women.
The Manager will contribute to the strategic leadership of Family Safety Victoria, and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Accountabilities Include
- Strategically design and develop the delivery of departmental objectives that impact significant localised service delivery and meet statewide departmental and government objectives and community expectations.
- Maintain an understanding of issues impacting the department's clients and investigate and lead critical projects that develop and review policies, professional standards and operating practices that enhance service delivery, budget effectiveness, efficiency and improved client outcomes.
- Forge strong connections across the department and with external stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach.
