Omni Academies of Learning is a progressive secondary school in Toowong, Brisbane, serving a community of learners, thinkers, creatives and entrepreneurs through a purposeful, holistic educational approach that connects students, families and the broader community.

As the school continues to grow, Omni Academies of Learning is seeking to appoint both Non‑Executive Directors and a Chairperson to further strengthen the Board’s governance, stewardship and strategic leadership. We are particularly interested in Non‑Executive Directors with legal, risk and safety expertise, and in a Chairperson with demonstrated board leadership experience, ideally within an independent school context. The Board has a collegiate culture and a strong commitment to Omni’s purpose and long-term success.

‑ Executive Directors

Non‑Executive Directors will bring independent judgement, sound governance and strategic perspective to support the effective oversight and sustainable growth of the school. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in legal, risk or safety.

Chairperson

The Chairperson will provide effective leadership to the Board, support strong governance practice, and foster constructive relationships across the school community. We are seeking an experienced board leader, ideally with experience in an independent school setting.

Candidate profile

We are seeking values‑aligned leaders who can contribute sound judgement, strategic insight and effective oversight. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Legal, risk or safety expertise, with the ability to contribute to robust governance, compliance and organisational oversight.
• Board experience in education, independent schools, not‑for‑profit, charity or Company Limited by Guarantee environments, including an understanding of governance and stakeholder accountability.
• Experience supporting growth, organisational scale or service expansion in complex operating environments.

This is a volunteer, non‑executive governance role (Board meetings, preparation and out‑of‑session input as required).
