Team Lead Coordinator | Clinical Trials

Sydney

About the role

We are partnered with a well-established, independent clinical research site in Sydney with a reputation that speaks for itself in the industry. The coordinator team is the engine room of what they do, and we're looking for an experienced Clinical Research Coordinator to step into a Team Lead role - supporting, mentoring and guiding a group of talented coordinators across a diverse, active trial portfolio.

This isn't a desk-only leadership role. You'll still be hands-on with studies, which means your credibility with the team is built on exactly what you know how to do. But you'll also be the person who helps coordinators grow, troubleshoots with them when things get complicated, and acts as the link between the coordinator team and site management.

What you'll be doing

  • Day-to-day leadership and mentoring of a team of Study Coordinators and Research Assistants
  • Overseeing trial conduct across multiple studies to ensure protocol compliance, participant safety and data quality
  • Supporting onboarding and training of new team members
  • Acting as a point of escalation for complex protocol or sponsor queries
  • Collaborating closely with investigators, the operations team, nurses, pharmacy and recruitment
  • Helping to continuously improve site SOPs and processes
  • Participating in sponsor and CRA visits, audits and inspections
  • Contributing to site start-up activities when needed

What we're looking for

Essential

  • 4+ years of clinical research coordination experience, ideally at a dedicated research site
  • Solid working knowledge of ICH-GCP, TGA requirements and FDA/EMA guidelines
  • Experience working across multiple therapeutic areas (Phase I–IV)
  • A natural communicator - clear, calm and confident, whether with a sponsor, a participant or a colleague who's struggling
  • The kind of organisational skills that others notice and quietly envy

Highly regarded

  • Previous experience in a senior coordinator, lead or mentoring capacity
  • Familiarity with EDC systems (Medidata Rave, Veeva Vault or similar)
  • Experience with participant recruitment and pre-screening

Why this role stands out

This company run a busy, high-quality site. That means you'll work on genuinely interesting studies across a range of therapy areas - rheumatology, dermatology, respiratory, vaccines, gastroenterology and more - and you'll be part of a team that takes real pride in what they do.

You'll be supported by experienced investigators, a hands-on operations team, and site leadership that genuinely values the coordinator team. This is a place where people build careers, not just fill a job.
