The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced and commercially minded Financial Accountant to join our high-performing Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Working closely with the Finance & Reporting Manager, you will play a key role in supporting financial reporting, reconciliations, taxation compliance, fixed asset management and audit activities, while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of month-end and year-end finance processes.
This hands-on role is suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and brings a practical, solutions-focused approach, strong analytical capability and the ability to build effective relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Support month-end close activities, including journals, reconciliations, accruals and reporting
- Assist with taxation and statutory compliance obligations including BAS, PAYG, FBT and other reporting requirements
- Manage and maintain fixed asset accounting processes and lease accounting requirements
- Partner cross-functionally with finance, operations, legal, marketing and external stakeholders
- Assist with internal and external audit processes and governance activities
- Prepare financial analysis and reporting to support business decision-making
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and strengthen internal controls
Skills & Experience
Ideally to be successful in the role you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Commerce, with CPA qualification (or working towards)
- Proven Financial Accountant experience within FMCG, manufacturing or a complex commercial environment
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, month-end processes, taxation compliance and statutory reporting requirements
- Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB), with experience or exposure to US GAAP highly regarded.
- Advanced Excel skills, strong analytical capability and experience managing fixed assets, reconciliations and general ledger processes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail, strong organisational skills and a proactive, continuous improvement mindset.
