About The Role
The Chef position is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items as part of the restaurant’s day-to-day kitchen operations. The role supports food service delivery by ensuring meals are prepared consistently, efficiently, and in line with established recipes, presentation standards, and kitchen procedures.

Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $76,000 to $82,000 + Superannuation
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook Indian cuisine and other menu items in line with established recipes and presentation standards
- Assist with daily food preparation activities including cutting, marinating, seasoning, and portioning ingredients
- Monitor cooking processes to maintain food quality, consistency, and timely service
- Operate across different kitchen sections during busy service periods as required
- Ensure dishes are plated and presented according to restaurant standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations, equipment, and storage areas
- Monitor stock rotation and assist with food storage procedures in line with food safety requirements
- Assist with receiving and storing kitchen deliveries and supplies
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to support smooth day-to-day service operations
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety procedures at all times
Skills & Experience
- Relevant qualification such as Certificate III or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
- Minimum 1–2 years of full-time relevant work experience in a similar role
- Experience preparing and cooking Indian cuisine preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment
- Understanding of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
