About The Position

Mends Street Dental is currently seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join our modern practice on a part-time basis, working 2 days per week Mondays and Fridays.

You’ll be joining a supportive and dynamic team in our contemporary 4-chair practice, where patient care and teamwork are at the heart of everything we do. Our dentists and clinical team are dedicated to delivering high-quality treatments and providing a positive, patient-centred experience at every visit.

Located in the heart of South Perth, our practice sits just across the road from the beautiful Swan River and is surrounded by a variety of cafés and restaurants, making it a great location to work and enjoy your breaks.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Dental Assistant who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and takes pride in delivering excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Care: Assist with patient management, including greeting patients, preparing them for procedures, and ensuring their comfort.
  • Clinical Support: Prepare and sterilise dental instruments, assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, and maintain a clean and organised treatment area.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor dental supplies levels, ensuring the treatment room is well-stocked and organised.
  • Patient Education: Provide patients with post-operative care instructions and educate them about oral hygiene and preventive care.
  • Billing and Insurance: Process payments, manage billing inquiries, and assist patients with payment plans and verification.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with dentists, hygienists, and other staff to ensure a smooth workflow and positive patient experience.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, as well as regulatory requirements in the dental practice.

What Do You Need To Succeed

  • Prior experience as a Dental Assistant is essential
  • A Cert III or IV in Dental Assisting is beneficial
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Capability to address patient concerns and resolve issues with professionalism and empathy
  • Attention to detail
