The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a high-calibre Senior Associate to join a market-leading Corporate M&A and Capital Markets team in Brisbane.

This role will see you advising major Australian and international clients across sophisticated domestic and cross-border transactions, particularly within the energy, resources and critical minerals sectors.Clients the team has advised include major Australian and international corporates such as BHP, Rio Tinto, Santos, Glencore and Exxon Mobil… across some of the most significant transactions and infrastructure arrangements in the market.

The work includes:

  • Complex public and private M&A transactions across the mining, oil & gas, and energy sectors
  • Joint ventures, farm-ins, asset acquisitions and strategic investment arrangements
  • Advising on major energy and resources transactions, including critical minerals and infrastructure projects
  • Rail, port, pipeline and broader infrastructure access arrangements and regulatory frameworks
  • Large-scale project development and operational arrangements across Australia and Oceania
  • Cross-border transactions involving multinational corporates, investment funds and global energy players
  • Strategic advisory work relating to competition, access and economic regulation regimes

You’ll gain exposure to sophisticated matters ranging from hundreds of millions through to multi-billion-dollar transactions, working closely with highly respected leaders in the market within a collaborative national team.

About You

This opportunity would suit a lawyer with:

  • Approximately 4+ years’ PAE in Corporate / M&A
  • Experience gained within a leading top-tier, national or international firm
  • Exposure to energy & resources transactions or a strong interest in developing within this space
  • Strong technical drafting and transactional management skills
  • A commercial mindset and genuine interest in building long-term client relationships
