Project Manager - Sustainability Consulting

The Company

Edge Impact is a leading sustainability consultancy delivering projects across climate, ESG, circular economy, and social impact. With a growing portfolio of complex, multidisciplinary work, Edge has established a dedicated Project Management Office (PMO) to strengthen delivery excellence, client experience, and operational rigour across the business.

Supporting more than 200 active projects at any time, the PMO partners closely with technical teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard. As one of the few sustainability consultancies with a formal PMO structure, Edge Impact is setting a new benchmark for project delivery in the sector.

The Role

Edge Impact is seeking a Project Manager to join its PMO and support the end-to-end delivery of client projects. Reporting to the PMO Director, you will oversee project planning, resourcing, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and client engagement while bringing structure and consistency across delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage projects end to end, including setup, scheduling, budgeting, resourcing, risk management, and quality assurance.
• Support proposals and business development by ensuring delivery approaches are practical and well structured.
• Partner with senior leaders on resource planning and workload management.
• Act as a key liaison between clients and project teams, supporting strong engagement and delivery outcomes.
• Mentor and support teams on project delivery and client management.
• Maintain project management systems, documentation, dashboards, and reporting.
• Contribute to reporting on revenue, utilisation, profitability, and project performance.
• Identify opportunities for cross-sell and on-sell within projects.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, PM capability uplift, and development of tools and processes.
• Lead an internal PMO workstream such as reporting, lessons learned, automation, or proposal tools.

About You

You are a structured and proactive Project Manager with strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Comfortable working with senior leaders and delivery teams alike, you bring clarity to complex situations and remain calm under pressure.

You enjoy solving delivery challenges, supporting others to succeed, and managing multiple priorities in a consulting environment. Exposure to sustainability or ESG is beneficial but not essential - success in this role is driven by strong project delivery capability, organisation, and sound judgement.

Skills and Experience

• Proven experience managing end-to-end projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder management.
• Strong client management and communication skills.
• Experience mentoring or coordinating delivery teams.
• Ability to improve project management tools, systems, and processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience within a PMO or structured project environment is highly regarded.
• MSP or similar project management qualification is essential.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in the $30K–$100K range.
• Proactive, solutions-focused, and highly organised.
• Experience in sustainability/ESG consulting is highly desirable.
