Candidates should ideally be based in Victoria and able to attend the Geelong office for occasional in-person collaboration.

We are hiring a Senior Developer to join the Callista team at Tribal Group — one of Australia’s leading student management systems used by major universities.

This is a rare senior-level hire into a long-standing product team. The work is hands-on and focused on complex, real-world systems — a mix of legacy platform and ongoing modernisation.

The platform is built on an Oracle-based stack, so experience working with Oracle Database, PL/SQL or related Oracle technologies is highly desirable. Exposure to Oracle APEX, ORDS or Oracle-based enterprise applications would be a strong advantage.

What we’re looking for

• Strong enterprise backend development experience using Java/Spring technologies
• Experience working within Oracle-based enterprise environments, including Oracle Database, PL/SQL, SQL or related Oracle technologies
• Ability to work across mixed legacy and modern enterprise systems
• Strong understanding of software design and architecture principles
• Ability to mentor and elevate engineers within the team

Nice to have

• Exposure to Oracle APEX, ORDS or Oracle-based enterprise applications
• Experience using AI-assisted development tooling or integrating AI capabilities into enterprise software environments within commercial or enterprise settings
