Due to an increased demand within our business, SYPAQ are seeking a Product Sponsor /

Project Manager with Defence Sustainment experience for a long-term opportunity with a Defence client. The role is based in Canberra and offers an immediate start. The role will be a part of high performing SYPAQ team.

Overview

This role will support outcomes across all four phases of the Defence Capability Lifecycle, industry participation will see effort applied across a range of products, strategy based initiatives, and a broad stakeholder environment. The role will provide project management and support services including scheduling, project management, finance, cost-estimation, product management, performance management; they are responsible for managing and overseeing scope, schedule and resources for the delivery of in-sustainment products.

The Sustainment Product Sponsors are the primary CM representative for the products within their scope. They are responsible for managing and overseeing scope, schedule and resources for the delivery of in-sustainment products.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Apply subject matter expertise to plan and deliver product in-sustainment operations and outcomes to meet Department’s capability management objectives.
• Lead product working level engagements with Delivery Groups, Enabler Groups, Senior User and other stakeholder representatives including via working groups.
• Provide planned and unplanned support to Delivery Group, users and others in the Department.
• Develop and execute Product Delivery Agreements (PDAs), including governance arrangements, resolution of issues, timely escalation of risks / issues and opportunity realisation.
• Make recommendations on product and FIC sustainment requirements.
• Coordinate inputs from Delivery Groups into Department governance, identifying opportunities for capability development in response to and in anticipation of user needs.
• Maintain product artefacts including Product Placemats, Product Capability Roadmaps, Terms of Reference (ToR), minutes and other artefacts identified in the Sustainment Management Plan.
• Oversee & manage product budget, including forecasting and financial planning to meet Budget Estimates, Additional Estimates, Sustainment Review submission, and other governance forums (such as PSG, CMB, and IC) as required.
• Prepare & chair monthly Capability Manager Working Group meetings.

Essential Skills, Qualifications And Experience

• Experience managing Defence ICT projects.
• Tertiary qualification in relevant field.

The successful applicant must be an Australian Citizen with a minimum of NV1 Security Clearance.
