Salary: Competitive salary

Location: Shepparton, VIC

Company Description

Munarra Limited is a First Peoples-led centre for learning, committed to delivering culturally responsive programs across education, employment, health, and wellbeing. Based at the Munarra Centre for Regional Excellence on Yorta Yorta Country in Shepparton, we work in partnership with community to create meaningful pathways and opportunities for First Nations peoples.

Role Description

We are seeking a First Nations Careers Specialist to lead a new and innovative approach to First Nations pathways—one that works in partnership with both career seekers and employers to create meaningful, sustainable employment outcomes.

This role is central to designing and delivering a contemporary pathways model that moves beyond traditional programs by actively connecting individual aspirations with employer commitment. You will support First Nations career seekers through personalised, strengths-based career guidance and mentorship, helping individuals identify their goals, build capability, and navigate education, training, and employment opportunities in a culturally safe and supportive environment.

Equally, you will work closely with employers who are committed to advancing First Nations employment, partnering with them to shape inclusive recruitment practices, identify workforce needs, and co-design pathways that lead to long-term career progression rather than short-term placements. You will act as a trusted advisor, helping organisations translate their aspirations into practical, impactful action.

Project design and delivery: You will develop and manage targeted pathways initiatives that align participant goals with employer opportunities. You will track outcomes, adapt approaches, and ensure programs are responsive to both community needs and industry demand.

Relationship-building: You will cultivate partnerships across community, industry, and education and training providers, creating a connected ecosystem that supports First Nations peoples across every stage of their career journey.

Forward-thinking: This role is ideally suited to someone who is passionate about driving systemic change, empowering First Nations peoples, and working collaboratively with organisations to create workplaces where First Nations talent can thrive.
